Task description

 

The scope of services includes the following tasks, which are performed independently:

- Conduct an analysis and estimate the offshore relevant cost elements, which means the CAPEX and OPEX of a gas-fired power production platform. Create documentation of this and present it to Uniper. The results are the basis for Uniper´s decision whether or not to deep dive further in this idea.
- Compare the pros and cons of a new built vs. second hand platform based on experience and possibly based on the information coming from platform suppliers and expert interviews. 
- Identify, analyze and present the environmental, permitting, and HSSE elements of this potential project based on experience. Include the findings and insights of this in the enrichment PowerPoint slide deck. 
- Analyze and point out regulatory specifics of operations of platforms, considering EU-regulations (EU Parliament adopted a new directive on the safety of offshore oil and gas activities in May 2013) or other international law systems. Include the findings in the enrichment PowerPoint slide deck.
- Consult the Uniper project team on the main cost drivers of CAPEX and OPEX compared to onshore production. The findings of this explanation will be part of the quantitative and qualitative comparison between offshore and onshore production.
- Identify opportunities and risks to use depleted oil or gas fields for carbon capture and storage. Create a PowerPoint slide deck with the findings of the identified opportunities and risk.
- Create a PowerPoint slide deck which includes the pros and cons of a new built vs. second hand platform, the environmental, permitting, and HSSE elements of a project like this, regulatory specifics of operations of platforms and the opportunities and risks to use depleted oil or gas fields for carbon capture and storage. Present it to the Uniper project team.
