Data Warehousing - Database Development Consultant

Task description

The scope of services includes the following tasks, which are independently performed by the external consultant:

The services, among others, will be provided within the framework of an agile development method: The concrete activities required to implement the below-mentioned services commissioned to the Contractor will be iteratively coordinated between the parties in sprint meetings and implemented by the Contractor within the sprints following the sprint meetings. Prior to each Sprint Meeting, the Contractor shall independently check, on the basis of its professional assessment, which individual services it considers appropriate and feasible within the scope of its assignment in the respective sprint.

The backlog is built on nine user-stories which will be implemented based on the defined priorities of the Product Owner. The roles for the technical development of the database are exclusively occupied by the external consultants. There are no internal employees who can carry out these tasks with the available skills. The external consultant will implement the technical advisory and development of the database. The sprints each have a duration of 2 weeks so that the sprint meetings take place at intervals of 2 weeks. Daily stand-ups will also be performed.

- Further develop the Uniper's Consumption Data Analytics Platform which encompasses the full beauty of MS-Azure stack and state of the art technology (Snowflake, Power Automate, Azure Functions, PowerBI) which includes the following tasks:

- Analyse and further automate/stabilize current ETL processes for End User consumption data

- Conduct (a) as-is analysis, (b) recommendations for improvements and (c) implement changes based on (b)

- Develop ETL processes for all Cloud and External Labour related IT consumption data

- Define and implement "data driven" solutions based on User story requirements below to increase the transparency around our IT consumption, and create data insights.

- Create overview of Cloud; External Labour costs for Application Owners

- Definition and implementation of ETL processes, data model and data visualization

- Create transparency on the consumption details for Cloud for Application Owners

- Definition and implementation of ETL processes, data model and data visualization

- Provide transparency of application utilization and costs for Application Owners

- Definition and implementation of ETL processes, data model and data visualization

- Identify, define and implement solutions to inform Application Owners in case a major application shows unusual cloud consumption (automated mailing, push notification or other)

- Identify, define and implement solution to allow Application Owners to add a Forecast per application (for cloud & external labour)

- Create data interface to Uniper's Service Now/EAM database and map relevant data to IT consumption data

- Identify, define and implement solution to allocate external labour costs to the individual applications

- PO requisitioners will be informed in case they have order external labour and shall be able to costs to the respective costs the external is working for (e.g. via Web interface)

- Create transparency on the consumption details for External Labour for Application Owners

- Definition and implementation of ETL processes, data model and data visualization

- Consult Uniper in the definition and implementation of KPIs for spend optimization

- Execute the data load processes for existing/already designed reports by ingesting raw data reports to Consumption Data Analytics Platform
