IT Consultant

Task description:

The scope of services includes the following tasks, which are independently performed by the external consultant:

° Detailed KPI calculation – each KPI will have a detailed calculation specification which will detail the time schedule for data extraction, the data that should be included or excluded and the targets for each KPI. In some cases the data will be from multiple source systems like AIM (Uniper Safety system used in Germany to report any safety incidents at power plants ) and SAP. The consultant will have a business requirement specification which will show how the KPI should be calculated. He will get the data tables from Uniper and will use the dates, company code and other keys to create a set of data that can be accesses by snowflake to create the reports.

- Talend import of data from Atonyx

- Talend jobs that trigger the import and calculation

- Azure batch jobs in production

- Schedule Tableau extract refreshes

- Versioning of report loads KPI calculation to daily or weekly reporting can be set.

- Adjust Tableau reports to use production extract & testing

° Data import - To create the maintenance KPI’s Uniper need information from both systems (AIM and SAP) and sometimes they have a different data structure and so there is some additional mapping needed to complete the KPI’s. The mapping rules are provided by the business and all validation is done by the business

° Import from Blob to Atonyx - when data is extracted from the source systems it goes to a holding area called blob storage, this is because sometimes the data has to be linked or changed before it can be imported to Atonyx. The consultant imports the data but all mapping rules are provided by the business

° Technical cutover - cutover is the process of making the reports live. For this Uniper have an initial data load (usually all tables) and then there are validation steps, calculations, documentation is updated. Once the initial ‘technical’ go live is achieved the daily or weekly reporting schedule needs to be set up from the consultant. This scheduling can be complicated and is monitored by a system called Compass. When this is complete Uniper can then hand the reports over for a business go live

° Update technical documentation. All technical documentation for reporting is held in Compass, this has to be accepted by Uniper as part of the service enabling before Go live

° Handover to support - Service enabling is the responsibility of the IT project manager but the consultant will be expected to update the technical documentation in Compass and hold a handover session with the nominated Uniper Support Colleague

° The consultant will be given a business requirement specification which contains data requirements, calculations & required screen layouts and targets. He will develop the enhancements. The testing and sign off of the reports will be done by the Project IT lead

° Create data extracts that allow the business to test that the data can be compared to source system and is correct, they do not have to execute or record any test results as part of this role

° Systems used are Snowflake & Atonyx & interfacing to SAP and Tableau
