Tasks description:

The scope of services includes the following tasks, which are independently performed by the external consultant:

  • Web automation testing - UI (user interface) and functional regression/smoke testing on multiple independent modules
  • Coordinating with the developers that they provide the automated tests and secondly running them and recording the errors during those automated runs and feeding them back to the developers
  • Web manual testing - all types of testing that fit, depending on each project; the requirements are to be found in the “DevOps” tool that is also used for the sprint planning. Errors to be recorded in DevOps as new tasks for the developers
  • Analyze system specifications and technical design documents to evaluate what needs to be tested (with Dev Ops)
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test cases considering the required test types and levels: integration, system, functional, accessibility, usability and performance testing
  • Perform regression testing when changes are made in the software and analyze the requirements for test automation
  • Clarify (based on consultant experience) and discuss what needs to be automated and what will be manual tested- contribute to technical discussion within the team and provide input for technical decisions
  • Create clear defect reports and Implement integration tests and UI functional tests according to the (Quality Assurance) QA approach; the conducted tests deliver the content for the test report and they should be prepared every time a test run has taken place. Again, DevOps should be the basis for documentation. The report should contain information about the test cases executed and their results and also information on the severity of the found bugs
  • Analyze and extend the existing documentation; as the QA consultant is not a developer, he looks at the applications more with the eyes of a user. He should analyse the existing documentation if it sufficiently describes to the users how to use the applications. The project and application user documentation is available online
  • Investigate incidents from a technical perspective, report bugs and consult the development team in the bug fixing process; the consultant should be able to judge based on the documented requirements in DevOps how serious a bug is. All incidents have to be investigated. Reports are relevant for the complete development team, product owner and project management
